Brand information

The LEGO Group is a Danish family-owned company that produces toys, movies and video games.

The company was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen, a carpenter from Billund, Denmark. It was one of the world's largest toy companies until the early 1990s.

In 1954, the company began producing plastic toys like cars and trucks and then moved to produce other items such as LEGO trains in 1961. From there they expanded to make more sets such as buildings, space sets and ships.

In 1972, they created their first minifigure which would lead to the creation of many other characters that are still used today.

As of 2018, there are over 600 different products available under their brand name with new ones being introduced each year.
