The founding banks of the new nation were the Bank of Montreal (BMO), The Merchants’ Bank of Canada (MBC) and The Imperial Bank of Canada (IBC). In 1869 the first two merged to create what would eventually become RBC Royal Bank.</p><p>RBC Royal Bank is one of the largest banks in North America with assets worth over $700 billion US dollars as of October 31st 2018.
