<p>Makita Corporation is not a household name, but it doesn't need to be in order to have an impressive 30-year history. In the company's ramp up to automatic vs. manual tools and incorporated innovation, Makita has been impacted by changes in the power tool industry.</p><p>Makita Corporation was founded by Toru­chu Higa on March 24th 1921 as Toru­chu Pneumatic Tool Works Company. In 1926, Makita began selling electric drills with rechargeable batteries and powered wood saws at Japan's International Industrial Exposition as a wholly owned subsidiary of Toru­chū Headquarters</p><p>The company prospered in almost every aspect of industry - from household appliances to industrial machinery until the oil crisis of 1973;and two decades later after selling their US acquired hand building</p>
