Brand information
CompUSA was an American electronics retailer that sold computers, computer software, consumer electronics, and entertainment software. It was founded in 1984 as the result of a merger between two Texas-based computer retail chains: Creative Computers and U S Computer.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2001, after which it liquidated its inventory at fire sale prices through a series of closing down sales. The chain had not been profitable since 2000 and closed its doors for good on July 22, 2002.
