<p>The Washington Huskies are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Washington, located in Seattle. The Huskies are a member of the NCAA Division I Pacific-12 Conference and have won 16 national championships. The Washington Huskies are one of the most successful collegiate sports teams in America, having won 16 national championships since their first title in 1917.&nbsp;</p><p>They have also been to more NCAA Final Fours than any other team in history. Washington's football team has enjoyed success as well, winning 13 conference titles since their first conference championship in 1900 and going to six straight Rose Bowls from 1991-1997. The men's basketball team has gone to five straight NCAA Final Fours, winning back-to-back titles in 1991 and 1992, while the women's basketball team has made it four straight Final Fours.&nbsp;</p><p>On April 26, 1909, the University of Washington's Board of Regents voted to create a collegiate athletic program, and the school's first intercollegiate team was fielded in 1910.A massive fundraising campaign helped fuel the early years of Washington athletics as many alumni contributed funds for teams and facilities.</p>
