There are four centers of Oxford University‒s university-wide research activities include Wycliffe, the Oriental Institute, the Ashmolean Museum and Somerville College.

Wycliffe Hall was founded in 1883, with the aim of training students for ministry as priests in missions. It became home to education, research and lifelong learning under Oxford University's three colleges of Education, Divinity and Theology
