The Queens Royals is the most prestigious, longest-standing and most successful women's football club in England.
Queens Royals FC was founded in 1969 by two friends, Jean Rook and Eileen Harris, who met at a local pub. They were both keen football players themselves and wanted to create a team that would promote the sport among women.
Today, the club has over 300 members and competes in the FA Women's Premier League Southern Division.
