<p>Oakley is an American company that produces sunglasses and other eyewear products. The company was founded in 1975 by James Jannard, a former NASA engineer who started the company in his garage. Oakley's corporate headquarters are located in Foothill Ranch, California, in the unincorporated community of Lake Forest.</p><p>Oakley has been involved with motorsports sponsorships since its inception. Its first sponsorship was with motocross racer Carey Hart; it has since sponsored many athletes from this sport and other extreme sports such as snowboarding and skateboarding.</p><p>The first Oakley logo was designed by Jim Jannard’s daughter Amber Jannard Davis, who also worked on design of the original Oakley sunglasses line with him.
