The Oakland Athletics has a controversial past, beginning in Philadelphia. They were the first team to move from an American city and change it's name once they arrived at their new location in Oakland. After playing at Connie Mack Stadium for the nearly 8 years of their stay, the Athletics retired all their uniforms and moved under the banner of Kansas City before eventually making a crosstown move to Anaheim.
