Brand information

Imperial Brands is a British multinational company that produces tobacco products, including cigarettes and other smokeless tobacco. The company was founded in 1902 as a partnership between Thomas Woodall and Samuel Smith. The first factory was located in London and the company had been importing tobacco from the United States.

In 1907, Imperial Tobacco entered into a contract with the American Tobacco Company to manufacture its cigarettes for sale in Canada. In 1909, Imperial Tobacco acquired the cigarette manufacturing operations of W.D & H.O Wills of Bristol, England, which were located at North Street Factory in Nottingham and merged these operations with its own plant at Richmond Street to form Imperial Tobacco Company (Nottingham).
