The I Love New York campaign is a marketing campaign that was launched by the New York State Department of Economic Development in 2007 to promote tourism and economic development. The slogan is based on the song "I Love New York" by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys.
Originally, the slogan was created to help revitalize Manhattan after September 11th, 2001. This slogan has been used in many different ways since then. One of these ways is through a series of TV commercials with famous actors such as Alec Baldwin and Candice Bergen.
In 2007, "I Love New York" became the official state motto of New York State and it has been used as a way to promote tourism in the state.
