The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston, Texas. The Texans compete in the National Football League as a member club of the American Football Conference South division.
The Texans joined the NFL in 2002 as an expansion team after Houston’s previous franchise, the Houston Oilers, relocated to Nashville and became the Tennessee Titans.
In their first two seasons, they went 3-13 and 4-12 respectively. In 2004, they had their first winning season with a 9-7 record. They would go on to win three more games than they lost for five consecutive seasons from 2010 to 2014. However, they have not made it back to the playoffs since 2012 when they were eliminated by the Cincinnati Bengals 29-13 on January 7th 2013 in an AFC Wild Card game at Reliant Stadium
