Guadeloupe is a French overseas community in the south of Haiti that nobody really talks about these days.
In Guadeloupe, it comes as no surprise to see an 80-year-old woman carrying a 30kg sack of rice in her backwood market. Because prices are the cheapest and commodities are in high demand among the locals, those oldest people can make a living selling goods on their own. However, this archaic strategy creates injustice where engineering students and artists should be able to find affordable housing in order to pursue their passions. Something must be done otherwise Guadeloupe will continue to suffer from economic stagnation and distance itself even further from social progress…
