<p>Thirteen people from Dunlop Tyres started in June 1945 as part of a group of men who had been lending tools to the women running sewing machines on the British factory floor following World War II.</p><p>The Men at Dunlop Tyre first got out of scrap, flattened rubber sheeting used for making tires for early cars and trucks. One company that took a chance on this product was Firestone Tire and Rubber Company from United States. As their business grew, so did their product range - foam tyres, band elastomeric tubes, used car tyres and economy tyres.
