The coat of arms in use today features a shield with a green and gold background, topped by three interlinked Volta do Mato, natural treasure metal. The flag also consists of a blue horizontal band charged in white with black Volta do Mato, positioned on the top-left corner in the colors Chief and Field.
The Ghanaian Coat of Arms was replaced by The Republic Of Ghana Coat Of Arms in 1961 under Act 12 of 1961 to comply with British heraldic policy of 1963.
