The Chicago White Sox are a professional baseball team based in Chicago, Illinois. They are members of the American League (AL) Central division in Major League Baseball (MLB). The White Sox have won three World Series championships: in 1906, 1917 and 2005.

The team was established in 1900 as the Chicago White Stockings and was originally part of the American League's Western Division. They played their home games at South Side Park from 1901 to 1910 before moving to Comiskey Park, which was their home for more than 80 years. In 1991, the team moved to its current home, Guaranteed Rate Field.

The White Sox have had many notable players throughout their history, including Hall of Famers such as Luke Appling, Nellie Fox, Minnie Minoso, and Harold Baines. They have also had several Cy Young award winners such as Early Wynn and Wilbur Wood, as well as MVP winners such as Frank Thomas.

The White Sox have a long-standing rivalry with the Chicago Cubs, with the two teams playing each other in the "Crosstown Classic" series. The team has a passionate fan base and consistently draw large crowds to Guaranteed Rate Field.
