The Bundesliga is the national association football association in Germany and has dealt with upheaval of moving Bayern Munich from East to West Germany.
60 years ago, Germans were pushing for a "Grand Football League" which would sideline the Western Allied occupation forces and create an independent, unified German football league - only they had no football teams.
A draft was written by Helmut Grashoff and Rainer Ohlig that included 12 teams based on five regions (West, North, South, Central-East) with 18 games during a season with 30 out of 39 rounds on Sunday to Friday. The draft sought to appeal to both competition supporters (9 provincial championships) and competitors of larger events (since 6 were professional).
