<p>Bridgestone is a multinational tire and rubber company, which was founded in 1931 by Shojiro Ishibashi in the city of Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It started as a maker of bicycle tires and then grew into other brands.</p><p>In 1960s Bridgestone began to expand its business internationally as well. The first Bridgestone production plant outside Japan was set up in Singapore in 1965.</p><p>The Bridgestone Group currently has 10 production plants around the world and employs over 69,000 people. Now it owns subsidiary companies such as Firestone North America (US), Inc; Bridgestone Europe SRL (Italy), Limited; Bridgestone Americas Holding LLC (US); Firestone Canada Ltd.; Yokohama Rubber Company Ltd., and more than 120 other companies around the world that soundly offer world-class products to their customers all over the globe.</p>
