Bandsintown lets users submit data of performances they attended to local music festivals, live concerts, and other events. Then, these data are compared against other user’s datasets to make a suggestion of an upcoming performance.

While Bandsintown can be seen as a service that connects fans with their favorite artists, it also links these artist’s fans to one another. Bandsintown facilitates communication among different users that might not have come in contact otherwise.

Bandsintown wanted to sell products with their name on them so it opened up its API program to allow third parties the opportunity creating more product authenticity for its artist’s fan base. With this API program purchase intent spikes from 5% to 13%. This increased by amount conversion from 2% to 3%.
