About AWWA Brand
The American Water Works Association is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of water quality and supply. The AWWA's goal is to provide a voice for public water systems, and to help them protect public health and ensure safe drinking water.
AWWA was founded in 1881 by three men who met at the Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Back then, these three men were concerned about the safety of drinking water, which was often contaminated with bacteria and other harmful substances. They wanted to create an organization that would promote the use of scientific research in order to improve public health.
AWWA has grown into an international organization with members all over the world. There are now more than 30,000 members representing all 50 states as well as more than 100 countries around the world.
